Course Description:

Topics Covered:

Safety, History and Purpose, Equipment Selection and Placement, Legal Issues, Tactical Planning, Intelligence Gathering, Tactical Handgun and Carbine Skills, Cover/ Concealment and Barricade Usage, Team Movements and Formations, Emergency Action and Arrest Team Placement and Procedure, Threshold Assesment, Entry Techniques, Use of Shields, Breaching Techniques and Options, Primary and Secondary Diversionary Device Deployment, Officer Rescue Techniques with TCCC Medical Procedures, Donning and Doffing of Respirator (Gas Mask) including Live Fire familiarization, and more.

This class will introduce principle-based tactics and techniques that can be adapted to any situation, making the student more tactically aware and sound in the performance of their duties. 

Student Requirements:
 
Current LEO, passing rifle and pistol qualifications scores within dept. standards, physically capable of participating in full kit all 5 days and dragging a downed teammate to safety, capable of swinging a ram/using breaching tools, and weapons must be zeroed prior to arrival. The MTOA will provide a gas exposure. Participation in the exposure is NOT mandatory to complete this course, unless the student’s agency requires it.
 
**Students will only be subject to dismissal from the course for failing to perform tasks in a safe manner. This course does not focus on PT or other topics that are tertiary to the primary learning goals. This course is focused on repetition and knowledge.**
 
Equipment:
 
Tactical Vest(with plates) / plate carrier, helmet, primary entry rifle w/ optic, light and rifle sling (mandatory), secondary weapon (optic preferred) w/light, duty belt with retention holster (non-serpa) and magazine pouches, 3 handgun magazines, 3 rifle magazines, gas mask, handheld flashlight, wrap around eye protection (clear lenses), ear protection, gloves, Long Sleeves (Mandatory), Suitable clothing for all weather conditions, NLT Bolt (Simunition/UTM), Force on Force safety equipment (minimum groin protection), chamber flags for each weapon system, Notebook and Pen.
 
Packed lunch recommended all 6 days, personal hydration and snacks.   
 
Ammo:
 
Minimum 600 rounds of .223 and 400 rounds of pistol.  Students are highly encouraged to have additional ammo with them.  Minimum 50 rounds of NLTA (SIM/UTM), 
 
Optional Additional Equipment: Ballistic Shield / Breaching Tools, Chem Lights, Door Stops
